Jeff Jackson's old racing days
We were digging around the other day in the proverbial box of photos and to our surprise we came across a few of Jeff's old racing pictures.
Needless to say Jeff's sons was a little taken back that his hair was over his ears, well it was the late 60's and 70's.
These are only a few but we're still finding more.
1971 - Jeff on the left shoe horning a 392 hemi in a 55 Chevy. That engine weighed a ton!!!
1982 - Elfin Magic II. (68 Chevelle) Getting a new rear end. D/Modify Production class
1980- Elfin Magic . (67 Camaro) Bean Blossom Indiana. A/Gas , 482 BBC with a clutch turbo.

Still putting the finial touches on the car.
Jeff raced mainly division 3 and considered his home track MIR (Marion County International raceway) Larue Ohio. He got his start drag racing AHRA Super Stockers, Formula I/II/III SS/J Camaro, then moved into a 185” FED B/ED until he was recruited as a replacement driver for a A/Fuel Dragster team where he recorded his fastest pass of 6.58 at 205.7mph.
Jeff then wanted to see the world so he joined the Navy for a short time, honorably discharged and moved to Columbus Indiana to open his own shop, Shamrock Automotive Engineering, where he fabricated and build race cars, engines and did custom paint and body work. His shop campaigned a highly successful Pro Gas Camaro and a D/Modified Production Chevelle. Missing the call of duty and a great offer for his shop, he rejoined the Navy, where he joined up with fellow racer Forest New and they put JN Motorsports together
